Welcome to our newest brother Matthew Joseph Higley. Born 9 lbs 14 oz, 21 inches long. Lots of dark hair and blue eyes(for now).
Due to a long time in the pelvis sunny side up Matt had alot of facial bruising and 2 major gooses bumps on the head. This contributed to an return stay to the Hospital for Jaundice treatment.
Now we are all home and happy. Daddy has done a great job taking care of the big brothers, so much so now they call for him first when they need something (score for me right? Oh yeah!) Other good news includes a baby who is ok at breastfeeding ( vs. horrible like the others, they tried but it was a struggle). As for Mommy, I am tired( big fat Duh on that) but very happy. When Matt cuddles on my chest and I see how much space he takes up I understand better why many friends thought I was going to burst any moment. That was a whole lot of baby.
One of the biggest shocks for me is the sound of the phrase " Mother of Four". I never thought of four as a "large" family. But it really does sound like a few kids. Life is good.
I know I've had my ups and downs alot lately but the extra time in the hospital gave me a chance to reflect on all the people who have been there and have been caring for me and my children/husband. I hope I will remember to keep my eyes open a little more and look for others who are stuck in a " nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I'll eat some worms" mentality. I didn't realize how rapped up in my own life I've been. So to all those who have extended a hand, a meal, a gift , and all other forms of love and appreciation to and for me and my family I offer a sincere Thank you. Also don't forget to check out the cute pics in the slide post before this one.

Congrats, Kristin! I'm thrilled for you. He is adorable, and big! I like what you wrote about focusing on others. When I start seeing tunnel vision and feeling sad I am able to see life much differently when I find others to help. I hope you all transition well.
What an amazing time in your life! 4 incredibly healthy and sweet boys. (they really are sweet!) I know it feels crazy now, and you will be overworked for several years to come, but it really is worth it!! they are amazing and you are amazing for having them!

Oh congratulations! He is adorable. :) I love the slide show. I am in absoloute awe of any mother who has more than two. You are on my list of superwomen. :)
Welcome to being a mother of 4!!!!, it's just the same as a mommy of 3, but busier. Congratulations Kristen and the rest of the family as well. I am so happy to hear that all went well and he is BIG (you really don't appreciated that until you have a small baby, Samantha was only 5.6. I would have LOVED to put a few more pounds on her)and nursing well. His is just plain adorable. Hope you can find some time to rest... sometime. Miss you guys,
Rachel
