Old, No Really It's official.

Most of my life I have hung out with people my age and as that group got married I started hanging out with younger friends. I also took the LONG track to graduate from college, 11 years. As a result I didn't notice that I was old. By virtue of the company I held it was assumed that I was younger and I have been fine with this. I even married a younger man (5 years to be exact (well 4 years, 11 months and 20 days to be EXACT)). Now that I'm married with young kids I find I have friends near my age and younger friends all with children the same age so once again I feel about par for the age bracket. This week I had a tumbling class mom-friend who is freaking out cause she is turning 30 in two weeks. I just laughed thinking I was just getting married at 30. But today was the official nail in this old lady's coffin. Just one quick comment. I love my age and would not change it for anything. I'm glad to have lived sooooooo long and hope to continue on, even if I do celebrate my 24th birthday... again for a few more years.
Today at the end of Church I was looking for a babysitter to watch the kids on a weeknight. The usual mutual aged girls won't do because of school and seminary. So I asked one of the new 18yr R.S. sisters ( also one of my usual babysitters she doubles with her sister often so I score 2 for 1). Then I began to tell them why I needed a babysitter and am so excited. Epcot has their Food and Wine festival and in connection with this they also have live concerts of some pretty cool singers. Most of the performers are 80's artists. I have missed most of these however I was dead set on going to see one of my favorite groups..... BOYZ II MEN. Yes that's right, I am so syked. To which a 16 year old said, who? Aren't they old, I mean an older group? I've never heard of them. OUCH, truly painful! I can see 80's groups as older but this group hit in the 90's. Then it hit me she was born in the 90's. I can't hide my age anymore. I might be down with Katy Perry, lady gaga and what not but when it comes to MY JAMS, it is "old" school. So I send my love and a shout out to all my OLD hommies from back in the day (1990). Word to your mother! BOYEEEE!.

HA! I love this post! I'm sorry if I added another nail in the coffin with my "We're old!" remark. ;0) But I'm there with ya, sister!

I am so loving that video...the attitude, the killer harmonies, the dance moves, the hair (high top fade!). We are gonna have an awesome night with Boyz II Men!! Kickin' it old school, baby!!
